The GLA:D® program at Boerrigter Physical Therapy

In 2020, Boerrigter Physical Therapy, in collaboration with Maxima MC, introduced the GLA:D® project within our practice. It is specially intended for patients with hip and knee osteoarthritis. The exercise program within the GLA:D® project (Good Life with Osteoarthritis; Denmark) includes both education and exercise. The aim is to reduce the complaints surrounding osteoarthritis in the knee and hip and to postpone or even prevent the need for surgery.

Now, four years later, we can conclude that the program has had a very positive outcome. The vast majority of our participants feel a clear improvement in their level of function, perception of pain and mobility after completing the 6-week GLA:D® program. At Boerrigter Physical Therapy we provide the GLA:D® training in small groups (maximum 3 participants at a time). This ensures that our GLA:D® certified physical therapist can provide everyone with personal attention and that the quality of the exercise program is guaranteed.

In the photos below you can see our physical therapist Ann giving the GLA:D® training to one of our participants.

Naturally, we will continue with the GLA:D® project and we will keep supporting and guiding our patients who struggle with osteoarthritis. Are you interested in the GLA:D® project? Please call or email our practice for more information.
