Wednesday September 18th marked the fall risk test day. People over 65 could take a fall risk test for free on this day.
To our delight, the turnout was good and we were able to administer the test to many enthusiastic elderly people. The test consisted of a number of questions from the physical therapist and a short walk on the Smart Floor. The Smart Floor is an aid that can be used to determine how someone walks. All the participant has to do is walk back and forth twice. The Smart Floor measures step length, step frequency and walking speed.
Depending on the measured fall risk, the participant was offered the opportunity to participate in our fall prevention exercise program ‘Vallen Verleden Tijd’ for free. The aim of this program is to learn to recognize fall hazards, reduce fear of falling and improve the activity level and the equilibrium.
Below you can find some photos of this fun, educational and successful testday.
The free fall prevention exercise program ‘Vallen Verleden Tijd’ will start on October 2nd, 2024. There are still 3 spots available. So are you 65 years or older and interested? Then call or email us and schedule a fall risk test.
